Really nice camera rig created by Josh Janousky. These rigs are great because they force you to think in real world moves creating a more realistic camera move. So you start to think about your Dolly(not your cute cabbage patch posted up on your bed - I just aged myself there) but your push in on Tz for example. Along with Dolly we have Track the Tx, side to side movement if you will. Can't forget Pan, the rY, rotational move and the good ol' Tilt rX rotational movement.
This rig is great because you can operate it on a crane, take it to handheld steady-cam and it even comes rigged with an attached curve path that allows for some interesting ideas for camera track shots. It also has a built in camera aim and shake to push handheld. Although, with shake what I usually do once my camera is locked, I bake it out and then bring that camera into RS CAM for adding shake. It seems to be a little refined in its shake and it also has some nice presets built into it as well. Link: http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/script/rscameraui
Hey thank you so much for featuring my rig! I'm glad you like it!
ReplyDeleteThe rig is great. I'm trying to constrain a light above the camera without luck. I'm sure it has to do with the existing constraints and grouping of the camera elements. Anyone ever done this?
ReplyDeleteOK. Within the Outliner, I was able to constrain by dragging the light under the parentConstraint of the armCtrl (which is where I wanted it) within the camera rig setup.
